the girl behind gatsby

why hello there! the name is mackenzie. i am an 80 year old woman cleverly disguised as a  20 year old girl. i’m convinced my name would be myrtle and i’d be extremely good at bridge.

i’m a reluctant floridian who recently moved to boston to attend college after a year off to work odd jobs to pay for my spontaneous plane ticket buying problem hobby ( new york city. boston. chicago. san francisco.)

this blog is a chronicle of my life. the  things that make me giddy. things that make me not so giddy. and everything in between:

nail polish. dressing like a librarian. books and more books.  yoga. say yes to the dress marathons. beautiful things. music. poetry. linguistics (etymology makes me swoon. if someone talked to me about philology i would give them my whooooole heart). harry potter. classic lit. art history. traveling by myself (!!!). teeny tiny basement cafes. getting lost. painting. singing. dancing on slippery floors with socks on. and crafting like any proud 80 year old disguised as a 20 year old would be proud of.

  4. I don’t know why I haven’t read this before, but seriously, yes. Yes to everything above. If you like basement cafes, you would love Java Break in Lawrence. It is literally a coffee shop / cereal bar (yes, cereal) in a basement downtown. The walls are graffitied and the coffee is delicous and it’s open all night. Definitely one of my favorite places in town to study.

  5. I just love this little about me. I feel like we would be great friends as weird as that sounds. And you’re so cute, again – how much more creepy can I be.

    I just love it.
